Donna's Halloween Card

Happy Halloween!  I just had to share with you this Halloween party invitation.  A new member of my stamp club called Donna made dozens of them for her family's annual Halloween party.  Isn't it fabulous? 

The invitation is made with From the Crypt stamp set and she also included a save-the-date card made from the Graveyard Gala set.  She attached a magnet to the back of it, so guests could place it on their fridge.  I love that!

The photo doesn't really do it justice, but I think you can see the glitter on the skull. 

She did such an amazing job with this invitation and it was a real hit at club.  I can't wait to see what she comes up with for next year.  Thanks for sharing Donna!

Delightful Decoration

I haven't participated in the Featured Stamper challenged on Splitcoast for the longest time.  But I actually had five extra minutes on Sunday afternoon to create a card for it.  The Featured Stamper was Rachel - check out her gallery and blog.

I decided to CASE one of her clean and simple cards and copied her layout and color combo, but changed up the size and image.

Don't you just love this Delightful Decorations set and punch from the mini catalog?  I really hope it makes it into the big catalog next year.

Here's another I made with the same set.  I stamped the ornament with versamark ink on white c/stock, heat embossed with silver embossing powder and filled in the center with a black marker.

Chalked Autumn Leaves

At Stamp Club last week we made several projects using the mini catalog set Autumn Splendor. 

For one of the projects we used the Poppin' Pastels technique.  The leaves were stamped onto Vanilla c/stock with Versamark ink and covered with SU pastels using sponge daubers.  Because we planned to cut out the leaves, they were sprayed with hairspray to seal them.

The background, which is Naturals Ivory c/stock, was scored every 1/2" with a paper cutter and scoring blade.  And sponged with Really Rust and Chocolate Chip ink.

I have to say that cutting out both leaves and acorns pushed some club members over the edge!  But I think it was worth the effort because their cards turned out great. 

I cut several extra chalked leaves and used one of them for today's Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoast.

I'm not totally in love with this card - it was a 'race against the school bus' card.  It's a little unbalanced at the bottom - I should have chosen a stronger sentiment.  Don't be surprised if I re-make this card.  It'll bug me.....

Sweet & Simple Saturday - Sympathy

I'd like to share a clean and simple sympathy card with you today.  I made it for last Monday's Clean & Simple challenge on Splitcoast, but haven't had time to upload it. 

I love this color combination - Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla and Kraft for a sympathy card.  It's an understated but elegant combo. The layout of the card came is this week's 411 sketch challenge.  I always head to that site for great sketch ideas.

Build-a-Bear Day Five - Crayon Pouch

Welcome to the final day of Build-a-Bear week here on New England Stamper.  Here's a project we did last month in stamp club - a little crayon pouch.  It could be used as a gift, party favor or for a sick child.

Inside the card are six 5" x 3" index cards stamped with the bear image and some crayons in a plastic bag for the child to color the bears with.

The card base measures 4" x 12" (so you can get 3 from a 12" x 12" sheet of c/stock).  And you score the card at 1.25", 1.5" and 6.75".  If you have any questions about this pouch, leave a comment and I'd be happy to answer them.

Build-a-Bear Day Four - Journal

Welcome to day four of Build-a-Bear week!  I have several projects to share with you today.  The first is a journal that would be a great project to make with kids.  The base is cover is a sheet of 8.5" x 11" c/stock folded in half - how easy is that? The inside pages are computer paper, so the project is not only easy to make, but inexpensive too.

At the Stampin' Up! regionals in Portland, ME at the weekend they were some adorable BAB samples on display.  Check out this party hat and fun On Board journal.

Build-a-Bear Day Three - Santa's Cookies

Welcome to Day Three of Build-a-Bear week on New England Stamper.  I have another swap project I'd like to share with you today.  It was made by the very talented Jane Walker.  I was so excited to receive this one because I don't have the Beary Merry die.  And this project is so much fun. 

I believe you put it next to the plate of cookies you leave out for Santa.  The scallop squares are made of chipboard and stand up very nicely.  Thanks for the gorgeous project, Jane!

Build-a-Bear Day Two - Poorly Bear

Welcome to Day Two of Build-a-Bear week! This was the first little bear I made with my new dies and I think she's such a sweetie.  The print on the Pawsitively Prints designer paper is very small and designed specifically for making the small bear clothes. When I saw this floral pattern, I immediately thought of little girl's pyjamas.

Her little yellow 'blankie' was made by creating faux suede.  I broke down the c/stock fibers with a bone folder and pulled apart the layers to create this thin, soft fuzzy layer.  (Thanks Christyann for that suggestion!)

To create the cuffs on the pants and top, I used the large oval punch and large scallop oval punch.  Click on the pictures below for an enlarged view.

               

I hope she would bring a smile to the face of sick little girl.

Build-a-Bear Week

Welcome to Build-a-Bear week on New England Stamper.  I can't believe I've had these stamp sets and dies for months without posting projects.  That's why I'm going to post a whole week of samples and then you'll never want to lay eyes on Build-a-Bear again (only kidding!)

I participated in a swap in September and will be showing you several of the items I received.  They are so adorable - I can hardly stand it!

Sweet & Simple Saturday

It's time to return to a regular blogging schedule - whatever that it!  And Sweet & Simple Saturday seems a good day to start. 

I haven't made many Halloween cards this year, so I sat down yesterday to make one with Batty for You.  And it occurred to me that because of the circular shape of the images, I always reach for a circle punch when I use this set.  So, I bucked the trend and used squares instead.

I used markers to highlight the skulls and omit the words from the stamp.  Then punched them out with a 1" square punch and mounted them onto black c/stock.  A punched sentiment and ribbon tab finish out this simple card.

I'm heading out to a Stampin' Up! regional training in Portland, Maine this morning, so will come back with some new samples and ideas for you.
