Crafty Creations Challenge

It's Wednesday and time for another Crafty Creations Challenge.  I didn't get to participate last week, but I'm back on track today.  The theme is leaves and here's my card.  It's one that we made at Stamp Club this month to celebrate Fall. 

The center was masked with a 1 3/4" circle punched from a Post-it note.  Leaves and berries from Autumn Days were stamped around the circle and it was finished off with some taffeta ribbon and a spritz with several markers.

Clean and Simple Punch Card

Yikes, it's been a long time since I posted.  But I'm back with a few things to share this week.  It's Monday, so it's my favorite challenge day on Splitcoast. The Clean and Simple Challenge today was to use the colors pink, blue, green and chocolate.  I had hoped to make a Halloween card, but that wasn't happening with these colors.

Instead I made a card using punches.  The sentiment was the only stamp I used.

I love the idea of using the Ornament punch as a vase, but it certainly didn't come from me.  I've seen quite a few people use it on Splitcoast, so I don't know who to give credit to for the original idea.

As you can see, I embossed the Bashful Blue c/stock before I punched it out.  The right side and bottom of the vase are sponged with Bashful Blue ink and I swiped a little across the vase to make the embossing stand out.

The flowers were made with the 5-petal punch and the Halloween paper from the new mini catalog called Night & Day.  I sponged the petals with Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose ink and curled them with my bone folder.  Their chocolate chip centers are 5/16" neutral jumbo brads.

Challenging Monday

Today was going to be a good Monday because it's the Clean & Simple Challenge on Splitcoast and it is a regular school day.  Don't you hate it when your plans get foiled?  And don't you love it when your 'sick kid' is better by 10am - funny how that happens!

Anyhow, that's why my challenge card is being posted so late.  Today's challenge is to make a CAS wedding card and here's what I came up with:

The heart was stamped with white pigment (craft) ink onto pink c/stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Once cut out, the heart was sponged with a little brown ink.  The card base is a Fabriano watercolor card and the sentiment is a rub-on.

Sweet & Simple Saturday

It's high time for another Sweet & Simple Saturday card - it's been way to long.  The beautiful New England Fall weather is calling me outside, so quick and easy stamping is the order of the day. 

And to celebrate Fall, the card uses a pretty leaf from SU's Autumn Days set.  I lined up all the leaves with a Stamp-a-ma-jig because there's no way I'd get those straight and I popped up one of the leaves for interest.  That's pretty much it - clean and simple.

Halloween Collage

I was able to do a couple of Splitcoast challenges this week - Clean & Simple Pop Up Challenge and the Color Challenge.  I randomly stamped images from House of Haunts onto whisper white c/stock with Stazon ink.  I sponged on some color and randomly punched out some 1" squares.  A lot of randomness going on!

Embossed Train

Today's Crafty Creations Challenge is to use embossing on your projects.  Check out the beautiful projects my other Design Team members created.

I brayered and sponged ink onto a whisper white panel and over stamped with En Francais b/ground stamp.  I stamped the train image from Happiness is a Journey with Chocolate Chip craft ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  To create the texture on Kraft base, I spritzed it with a Chocolate Chip marker and the Color Spritz Tool.  The sentiment was stamped on Twill Tape.

No Stamping

Sorry I've been missing in action - it's been a tough week with the announcement from Stampin' Up! on Tuesday about the new agreement they want demonstrators to sign.  I really haven't had the heart to stamp or blog. 

Here's the card I made for Crafty Creations this week.  Ann set the great challenge to use 3 or more patterned papers on your creation.  The design team came up with some beautiful cards this week - check them out and then get creating.
