Happy Scrapbooking Day! It's time for another Sweet & Simple Saturday project and I'm sharing a scrapbook page with you today instead of a card.
I'm not a big scrapbooker (I put too much pressure on myself - can you imagine!), but I was delighted to find Jennifer Buck's blog with some CAS (clean and simple) page layouts. I chose this layout Jennifer posted a couple of weeks ago to showcase a favorite photo.
[Sorry about the wrinkle in the left corner - I'll have to flatten it in my album.]
The patterned paper flowers are die cut using the Flower Layers #3 die (available through SU). I jazzed up the yellow flowers with some Sunflower Shimmerz and the polka dot patterned paper with Celery Shimmerz. Here's a closer look:
Remember that if you use Shimmerz on any of your scrapbook pages, you can enter them to win some new pots of Shimmerz . You don't need a blog, just start a gallery on Splitcoaststampers or Two Peas in a Bucket, upload your project and then leave a link on the Shimmerz blog. You have a whole week to post them - so get busy!
Happy Scrapping!
Supplies:
Stamps: Ali Edward's Capture the Moment (Technique Tuesday)
C/stock: Whisper white, Good Morning Sunshine (SU), Kaleidascope (My Mind's Eye)
Ink: Not Quite Navy ink & marker, Celery & Sunflower Shimmerz
Accessories: Velvet brads (Creative Imaginations), Chipboard letters (Heidi Swapp)
Tools: Big Shot, Flower Layers #3 die

What a beautiful page, Ali! I love this clean style and really feel inspired by your page to get back to scrapping. DH was harrassing me yesterday about being so far behind!

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only who puts too much pressure on herself when it comes to scrapping. I really like this page. It's sweet and simple. Sometimes, I think that's better than lots and lots of stuff. I especially like the Shimmerz!!:o)
