Today's color challenge on Splitcoast was a stretch because it included Pacific Point. This is not a color I would ever chose, but that's what challenges are all about, right? The three colors are:
Pacific Point, Baja Breeze and Garden Green.
I used a sketch by Vicki Chrisman for the layout of the card and a lovely Artistic Outpost image from a sheet called BlueBird. The main panel was created in the following steps:
- The vanilla base was brayered with Cloudy Blue ink (Adirondack).
- The botton of panel was sponged with Lettuce (Adirondack), Peeled Paint (Ranger Distress Ink), Garden Green (Stampin' Up!).
- The top of panel was sponged with Baja Breeze, Brilliant Blue and Night of Navy inks (all SU).
- Blue Bird image (Artistic Outpost) was stamped with Night of Navy craft ink (SU) and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
- Celery Shimmerz was painted over the entire panel. (I'm still loving my Shimmerz!)
It sounds like a lot of steps, but it didn't take long at all.
The rest is pretty straightforward - the baja breeze panel was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and sponged with garden green ink. A couple of strips of c/stock, ribbon and some vintage buttons.
Here's a close-up so you can see the shimmer!
Recipe:
- Stamps: BlueBird (Artistic Outpost), En Francais (Stampin' Up!)
