I discovered this great online newsletter at the end of last year called Sheet Load of Cards. Of course, it's taken me until now to try one of their designs. The concept is that you make a bunch of cards using a sketch and cutting guide so that you efficiently use your card stock and patterned paper.
I tried the layout in their August Mini Issue. Instead of using a large sheet of patterned paper, I used up some of my scraps from the very large pile I have. Their layouts are great for using up scraps of patterned paper and/or card stock that you can't bear to throw away - sound familiar? Why not give one of their August designs a try. They're having a contest this month, so you could win some goodies.
Here's a few cards that I came up with from the August Mini sketch:
The first two cards use a new SU patterned paper called Haiku - it's yummy! The sentiment is from One of a Kind.
This paper is sadly retired, but the stamped images are current - they're from Eastern Blossoms.
Thanks for checking out my blog - enjoy your day!

Great layouts - nice job!

I really love the first card. The dp is gorgous and I love the scalloped vellum. So fresh, clean, and elegant looking.
